HomeBrew at Curious Comedy Club

Sorry to get this out so late, but the band, HomeBrew, which I am a part of, is playing Wednesday, Dec 7, at Curious Comedy Club starting at 7pm.  This is a benefit for WOACA/YWCA’s advocacy for better healthcare for women over the age of 50.  It’s also part of what’s become our annual holiday event we like to call,  our Annual Stocking Hop!

Our playlist includes: Van Morrison, Chicago, Steely Dan, Stevie Wonder, Sam and Dave, Brian Setzer Orhestra, The Stones, Aretha Franklin, and many others.

As an added feature, the Fallen Angel Choir, a political satire group, will perform during one of our breaks.

You’ll get home before the big storm hits.  Would love to see you there.

Salem Art Fair – Here We Come

HomeBrew has a gig this Sunday afternoon in Salem at the Salem Art Fair and Festival.

We’ll be on the main stage July 19, from 1:30-2:30pm.  If you’re in the Salem area drop on by and enjoy the wonderful festival. This art fair has been going on for over 60 years.  Some 35,000 people attend this yearly gathering.

Enjoy a classic Oregon summer experience and the classic R&B sounds of HomeBrew this Sunday afternoon.

Live Mid Week Music

This week in music finds me preparing for two gigs.  Tuesday evening, HomeBrew, will be performing at Velo Cult Bike Shop, 1969 NE 42nd Ave, in Portland’s historic Hollywood District. We play from 7-8:15pm and are the first of two bands.  It’s a benefit for Oregon Special Olympics and there is a $10 suggested donation.  Showing up early is highly encouraged.

Wednesday evening, what used to be my monthly Jade Lounge gig has gotten even more intimate.  Meeting in a home with Jade Lounge band members and friends for an evening of sharing songs we all know, along with hearing some originals.   Should be a wonderful evening of music and laughter.

That Was Fun!!

Wednesday evening at the Jade Lounge in SE Portland was a complete success.  Here is a picture of the band: Left to right: Doug McCleary, Cynthia O’Brien, moi and John Hasenjaeger.  We were given the band name, “Legion of Ambiguity.”  We kinda like it.

Legion of AmbiguityThe plan is to return next month on March 26.  I’ll keep you posted.
