Back to Rose City Food Park This Friday

I’m back again this Friday evening, July 13, at Rose City Food Park from 6-8pm.  Great evening to bring the family, date night, whatever it may be.  Wonderful vendors and some outstanding food.

I’ll play my take on lots of cover tunes from 50s-60s-70s, add a few originals just to spice it up.  I would love to see some familiar faces and a few new ones.  Please join me this Friday evening.

Rose City Food Park is located at 5235 NE Sandy Blvd., Portland, 97213

Saturday at Rose City Food Park

I’m back at Rose City Food Park this Saturday afternoon from 3-4:30pm, as one of the featured musician’s for their Mini Brew Fest.   The weather for Saturday looks hot, which means, cold brews and live music wait for you.  I’ll be jamming cover tunes from Hall & Oates, America, Billy Joel, Elton John, Elvis and some of my own stuff.

Sit a spell and cool down this Saturday afternoon.

Fun and Inspiring night at Cellar 55

Many a great moment at tonights gig at Cellar 55 in Vancouver.  But none sweeter than it’s final moments.  Our last song was the classic by Leonard Cohen, “Hallelujah.” A request.   With our acoustic guitars, Jeff Haagenson sat upon a stool adding some tasty licks, while I led the song.  With each passing chorus it got sweeter and sweeter.  The reason?   We had a group of choir members from Columbia Presbyterian Church in attendance.  By the time we reached the final chorus we went a cappella and it sounded the sweetest of all.  One of those sacred moments in a performance that was serendipitous.

My appreciation to Jeff Haagenson for his talent and friendship.  To the staff at Cellar 55, you treat musician’s with respect and you pay us.  Thank you.

I’ll keep you informed the next time I’ll be at Cellar 55.  No doubt, Jeff and I will return together.

Returning to Cellar 55 as H-Duo This Friday Evening

This Friday evening at Cellar 55 in Vancouver, WA, I will be joined by my H-Duo partner Jeff Haagenson.

dsc_0044Jeff and I have played in a full band together for nearly 13 years and off and on as a duo.  I invited Jeff to join me this Friday to resurrect some of our favorites we haven’t played in awhile.  Our set list includes: Jason Mraz, Hall & Oates, Ingrid Michaelson, Train, Bruno Mars, Dan Folgelberg, James Taylor, along with some original blues instrumentals and whatever else comes to mind.  Each of us will also take turns doing some solo stuff, as well.

Join us this Friday evening starting at 6:30.  Great way to end your week and start your weekend.DSC_0029

December Gigs and Events

HomeBrew HolidayIt starts with the 11 piece band HomeBrew. We’re creating a party for our fans who’ve asked us, “when are you playing next?”  That “next” is December 17.  HomeBrew is a classic R&B party dance band that has been together 30 some years.  We still have a few original members.  I joined the band back in July of this year.

We’re calling this: “HomeBrew’s – Holiday Sock Hop.”  We’ll be at Curious Comedy Theater, Wednesday Dec. 17, from 7-11pm.  Our first set starts at 8pm.  Come early because we are creating a festive event for the entire family.  Song list includes, Van Morrison, Steely Dan, Stevie Wonder, Brian Setzer, Chicago and many others.

Two days later, on Friday Dec. 19,  I’ll be back at Cellar 55 in Vancouver, WA from 6:30-8:30pm.  Falling in love with this place.  Nice getaway at the end of the work week.  Looking for a nice date night and wine?  Cellar 55 is the ticket.

The following evening, Dec 20, I’m back at Torta-landia in SE Portland.  Humble little Mexican cafe styled eatery.  This will be my third time in this cozy little corner in SE Portland, just a block north off Foster Road and SE 60th.

My song set for these two events include covers by Stevie Wonder, Gordon Lightfoot, James Taylor, Elton John, Billy Joel, Otis Redding, Chicago, Beatles, Elvis, Little River Band and many others.  I’ll sprinkle in some originals, too.

All of this in one week, no less!!

Would love to see some familiar faces.

Friday Nov 21 at Cellar 55 in Vancouver

Once again, I’ve been invited back to Cellar 55 this Friday evening from 7-9pm.  I’ve been adding a few more cover tunes to my mix of Kenny Loggins, Beatles, Billy Joel, Elton John, Stevie Wonder, Tom Petty, Gordon Lightfoot, James Taylor, Chicago, and others.  A smattering of originals thrown in for good measure.

Would love to see some familiar faces and especially for you wine lovers, Cellar 55’s reputation is growing.  You can visit their Facebook page for more information.

See you Friday evening at 7pm.
