June 19th was a wonderful night at Portland Music Company’s NE Portland location, where I, along with 7 other musicians, played 15 minute sets of mainly original songs. Here’s my “live” version of a song I wrote earlier this year called Deep Blue.

Played at an open mic last night at Portland Music Company’s NE Portland location. I was one of 8 performers who played to a packed house the entire night. Brought home a little swag from the evenings raffle, new guitar strings. All performances were captured by a camcorder and plenty of pics taken. All performers will get some “ink” on PMC’s facebook page. Rather cool, eh!
Back on May 11, I found myself playing guitar for, “A Reason to Run” at Marine Park in Vancouver, WA. This was sponsored through my church and turned out to be a beautiful sunny morning for the run. Across the way from where I was playing, was another set of musicians playing guitars and singing. At one point, they added a percussionist on the cajon that gave them a serious groove. Being inspired, I took my melodica (mouth organ) and joined them for a wonderful jam session. Certainly the high point of the event from my perspective.
Playing for fun runs, in living rooms, at local cafe’s, block and garden parties or the local grocery store, live music adds the right kind of atmosphere.
Enjoyed my time at Torta-Landia this past Tuesday evening. Hope to have a return engagement soon.
I’ll be at Torta-Landia in SE Portland this Tuesday evening beginning at 7pm. Got some new songs to share along with some of my favorite cover tunes, instrumentals and whatever else might come to mind. Stop on by. I’ll have some of my CDs of “In Those Days,” for sale for $10 bucks. Might be a good father’s day gift. Or this could be a special date night for you, too. No matter, come on by and sit a spell.
This is one of those real casual gigs where I just bring my guitar and sing songs for a couple of hours. I won’t be the only musician performing at this fun event. Maybe we’ll get a jam session going at some point. I’ll bring my ukulele and melodica for added musical spice.
I’ll be performing from 10am-12(ish) this Saturday.
Here’s more information about “A Reason to Run.”
For over 10 years I have played solo piano for the Clark County Chapter of the National Football Foundation. The Foundation honors high school football student/athletes with a wonderful dinner and recognition. I am honored to continue this tradition this Sunday evening at Hudson’s Bay High School in Vancouver, WA.
This is a re-scheduled gig from last month. I had to cancel previously due to illness. Come join me for two hours of originals, both vocal and instrumental, along with plenty of cover tunes. The Coffee Station is out in Aloha off of Farmington Road at 176th. I’ll be performing from 7-9pm.
I have been going through my web site tweaking all the pages and posts to reflect what it is I do for a living in the entertainment world. As you may know, voice over work is the main bread winner.
Outside of that, I’ve been doing mobile DJ work for years. I specialize in themed oriented events and have a soft spot for the boomer generation.
Over the past several years I’ve recorded two instrumental albums; Friday Sessions and Meditations. My most recent album, In Those Days, offers songs on themes of love, family and faith.
Playing live has always been something I’ve enjoyed. Whether for a corporate event or local business or even your living room, I’d love to help create the right atmosphere.
